About the Initiative
The initiative aims to enable Egyptians residing abroad to update their bank data through Egyptian embassies and consulates, without the need to travel to Egypt. The initiative includes identity verification, fulfilling forms, authenticating documents, and then sending them to the bank to complete the data update and notify the customer via a text message.
Steps for Customers to Update Data
Egyptians residing abroad should visit the headquarters of the embassies and consulates of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the specified foreign countries, with the necessity of submitting:
- The original valid national ID card or original valid passport.
- A photocopy of it with the signature of the embassy/consulate official indicating that it matches the original, stamped with the diplomatic mission's seal (free of charge).
- Completed data update service forms.
- Personal signature on the data update form in front of the mission officials designated by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates
- Payment of the document authentication fees mandated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs.
- Proof of permanent residential address, if it differs from the address stated in the identification document.Passport for other nationalities, if applicable.
- Proof of employment or source of income, if the employment or source of income is not verified or differs from the information stated in the identification document.
- Passport(s) for other nationalities, if applicable.
The original documents will be sent to the bank according to specific deadlines for each country, after completing their authentication by the mission and fulfilling the authentication of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs on the signatures of the embassy and consulate officials. The data is updated by the bank after ensuring that all required data and documents have been fulfilled and completed to approve the update in accordance with the applicable policies, procedures, terms, and conditions, and after ensuring the customer's approval of all terms and conditions for providing the service.
Important Notes / Information
- In the event of any additional details not fulfilled by the customer, we will contact you to complete the data update process via the mobile phone numbers / email address provided in the data update form. If the requirements are not fulfilled within a maximum of 30 days, the request will be canceled.
- If the customer is a U.S. citizen or holds a Green Card, their signature must be obtained on the W9 form.
- Ensure all required data on the form is filled out, making sure to provide the Social Security Number on the form.
- The W8 form must be signed if there are indicators that the citizen is present inside the United States of America (phone number – workplace).
- Ensure all form data is completed while submitting documents that support the registered data in the request.
- Ensure there is no crossing out or addition of any marks on the application outside the designated areas to avoid the rejection of the request's execution.
- Upon completion of the data update: A text message will be sent to the customer on the mobile phone number provided in the data update form.
